Areas of Focus is as under:

In order to achieve broad developmental goals in- line with the vision, the following strategy has been devised:-

• Sharp focus on coverage of un-connected habitations and upgradation of rural roads with a view to improve connectivity and market accessibility.
• Address the issue of proper maintenance and repair of PMGSY roads after completion of the Defect Liability Period.
• Construction and upgradation of arterial roads with focus on improvement of inter- district connectivity.
• Construction, widening and upgradation o existing Major District Roads (MDR) and Other District Roads (ODR) from single lane to double lane and from two lane to four lane status.
• Special emphasis on improvement and upgradation of city and town roads and leading to tourist destinations.
• Focus on completion of existing ongoing bridge projects.
• Safety audit of roads and bridges besides ensuring road safety measures on critical spots.
• Plan for bypasses in capital cities of Jammu/ Srinagar and at District Headquarters to ease out traffic congestion.
• Construction of critical roads, bridges and tunnels.
